The Stiller Centre for Technology Commercialization has established itself as one of Canada’s leading technology incubators, generating synergy by bringing together minds in research, professional, medical, biotechnology and commercial sectors. The 45,000 square foot facility, launched in 2002, is designed for start-up technology-based companies with a primary focus on commercializing ‘wet-science’ based ventures. ‘Wet-science’ applies to a broad array of business applications including drug development, medical devices and imaging, cellular therapy, alternative energy, chemical processing, and others.
Stiller offers specialized facilities, including wet and dry lab space, flexible leasing arrangements, and a wide variety of shared services that combine to lower the start-up hurdles for small technology-based ventures. The Stiller Centre is also home to the Convergence Lab, a 2,400 square foot laboratory available at subsidized rates for use by entrepreneurial based start-ups needing to do proof of principle lab work or small companies requiring temporary laboratory services.
